This remarkable hotel and wedding venue, sitting on 650 acres of breathtaking natural beauty, has 2 golf courses, Wales’ largest spa, and state of the art gym.

The Challenge

After the trials of Covid on the hospitality sector, The Vale Resort reopened and, with it, Hensol Castle Distillery – yum! This brought with it the opportunity to promote several different elements of the resort, including the new distillery tours and gin-making experience.

With the aim to increase exposure, bookings, and enquiries, it was decided to approach this with a fresh paid advertising strategy. We wanted to make sure that whether you were looking for a spa day, your dream wedding venue, a hotel stay, or a fun day out, The Vale Resort stood out.

The Solution

After meeting with the team at The Vale Resort, and having a tour of the facilities (it truly is breathtaking!), we worked closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and Group Marketing Director to determine what the campaign focus would be, which offerings would be promoted, and how to introduce the distillery as part of the plan. Furthermore, we considered aspects such as competitors, target audiences, and seasonality.

The campaign targets a number of the resort’s key offerings, including:

  • Hotel stays
  • Spa days
  • Golf trips
  • Weddings
  • Gym memberships
  • Gin experiences

As a result, we understood that the campaign would be continuously evolving depending on the season and any key events or dates; in addition to this, the focus would shift so targets could be met with ease. As an example, at the start of the year, the focus was on wedding enquiries and the stunningly unique venue; as the season changes, golf breaks will take that space.

To ensure that the team can see and understand what the advertising is doing for them in relation to their targets and aims, we created a live dashboard so that reports were only a click away, as well as taking part in regular meetings with the client.

Our performance marketing team continue to manage, optimise, and create campaigns for The Vale Resort. We’re proud to have achieved tangible results across the business, including;

  • 342% increase in conversions year on year
  • 59% reduction in the cost per acquisition (CPA)
  • 13% reduction in the cost per click (CPC)
