A look back at the best bits of 2019, a sneak peek at the year ahead, and what our digital marketers really want for Christmas.
From expanding our team, our client base, our services and our team social events to finally getting the keys to our new Cardiff HQ — 2019 has been a game-changing year for our digital agency. And with even more change on the horizon, there’s no sign of our skyrocketing demand slowing down in 2020.
As the year draws to a close, we’ve got a lot to be thankful for, a ton to look forward to, and a well-deserved Christmas break in between. Here’s why…
We grew the team
The WebBox team got bigger this year with the arrival of two new members. 2019 saw us welcome our digital-obsessed business development pro, Rhod, and Computer Science, graduate Matteo. Rhod has spent the last eight months growing the WebBox brand, client-base and service offering. Meanwhile, Matteo, a first-class honours graduate, has been bringing the same level of excellence to our latest client projects. You can find out more about the newest members of our team here.
We gained new clients
2019 was also a year that saw a surge in demand for our signature digital marketing services. We spent the last 12 months working on some of the biggest and most high profile projects of our agency life. Taking on projects across the public, private and third sectors, we’ve lent our expertise on everything from bespoke CMS, enhanced UX (user experience) and UI (user interface) design to ROI soaring PPC and digital advertising campaigns. Getting results that exceed our clients’ expectations is what we do best — and 2019 saw us take our track record to a whole new level. Check out our recent projects and stats here.
We hit the road
Every day is an opportunity to learn — and we took time out this year to gain first-hand insight into the latest thoughts, trends, products and technologies from the digital marketing scene. From the world-class keynote talks and training sessions at the search marketing-focused BrightonSEO conference to the talks, insights and hands-on workshops at Bath Digital Festival, our experts immersed themselves in the industry’s emerging trends — the good, the bad and the nerdy.
We celebrated our 11th Birthday
We’ve come a long way from the humble beginnings of a spare bedroom. 4015 days to be exact. As WebBox turned 11, we took a walk down memory lane to recap some of the most defining moments for our agency’s growth and success. From winning our public sector contract and gaining our first of several FTSE100 clients to creating our very own CMS (which is now used by organisations including the NHS, Airbus and DS Smith) and finally purchasing, exchanging contracts, and getting the keys to our shiny new Cardiff HQ — the last 11 years have been a heck of a ride, and we can’t wait for the next.
We bought a new HQ!
Which brings us to the next chapter for WebBox — and the move to our brand new Cardiff office. We’ve got the keys, bought the paint, and the interior designer is currently making our workspace vision a reality. As of January 2020, we’ll have a new place to call the WebBox home — and it’s bigger and better than ever. Keep an eye on our Instagram feed for the first look at our new office space. It won’t disappoint.
As of 27 January 2020, our new Cardiff address will be:
Fulmar House, Beignon Close, off Ocean Way, Cardiff, CF24 5HF
WebBox Christmas Wishlist
After reflecting on a super 12 months, and taking a peek at the start of an even more exciting 2020, we’re now looking forward to a relaxing, digital detoxing Christmas break. But what was on the top of our digital marketers’ Christmas wish lists? Apart from Digital Marketer Tom R (who, after dropping his phone several times, now needs a new one that works), and Will’s wife Sam (and Mummy of two) who’s hoping for (and deserving!) a full night’s sleep, with something from Pandora thrown in (we hope Will has had to proofread this part), the WebBox team wanted no material gifts. Our MD Will and Head of Digital Rhod both want to spend time with their wives and children, while Senior Digital Designer Graham (apart from hoping for some Sex Panther aftershave) wishes health and wellness for his nearest and dearest.
And so with everyone only wanting quality time for Christmas, we’d like to remind you all that we’ll be closed from 4pm on Friday 20th December 2019. We’ll resume business on Monday 6th January 2020.
Until then, we’d like to wish you all a fantastic festive period and we look forward to hearing from you in the New Year.
